Application Deadline: 12/12/2024Department: Office of Disability ResourcesEmployment Type: Full TimeMinimum Salary: $70,000 (+ $3,400 location pay)Maximum Salary: $75,000 (+ $3,400 location pay)Description: The Office of Disability Resources exists to enhance the Purchase College experience by supporting full participation for students with disabilities. The office collaborates with campus partners to provide leadership and guidance, and facilitation of equal access to our programs, services, and activities.The Assistant Director works in close contact with the Director to provide reasonable accommodations and services for students with disabilities in compliance with ADAAA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other related federal and state regulations. The Assistant Director also supervises the Cornerstone Connect program, a fee-based program that provides academic and social executive-functioning support for participants. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director and other departments to promote compliance with ADAAA and the socially-just model of disability on campus. Responsibilities include researching current trends and best practices in disability services in higher education, updating informational materials and the office website, and facilitating workshops to educate the campus community. The position reports to the Director of the Office of Disability Resources.Qualifications:A Master's degree in a related field and 2-3 years of related work experience in higher education.Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, NVLD, anxiety and other mental health issues, physical and cognitive disabilities.Experience with compliance surrounding higher education and disability.Familiarity with best practice initiatives for working with students with disabilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality surrounding student's disability and related documentation.Ability to understand psycho-educational documentation and use it to provide reasonable accommodations and services.Ability to develop rapport with students and act as an advocate when required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Supervisory experience.Candidates must attach the following documents to your online application: C.V./resume, cover letter, and the names and contact information for three references.Applications and supporting documents will be reviewed upon receipt.
