The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, and Palliative Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks an Assistant Division Administrator to provide leadership and direction primarily in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and grant administration. This position reports to the division administrator, has two direct reports, and includes participation in the division's leadership team.
JOB DUTIES
* Direct the preparation of grants and contracts and ensure compliance with the institution, funding source, and federal guidelines and regulations.
* Direct day-to-day fiscal operations and the completion of major financial deliverables, including budget preparation, financial reporting, cash flow management, and expenditure control.
* Monitor financial performance and prepare regular financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with institutional policies, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
* Develop and maintain financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders to analyze trends and identify risks and opportunities.
* Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
* Implement innovative solutions to enhance financial reporting, data integration, and decision-making processes.
* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team through mentoring, coaching, and professional development initiatives.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
* In addition to the above, other duties as assigned.
This leadership position is an excellent opportunity for career advancement. The two previous incumbents moved on to become Division and Department Administrators.
This hybrid position has the potential to work two days remotely.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or public administration and four years of professional experience in related roles
* Eight years of increasingly responsible experience in a related role may be considered instead of a degree
* Ability to plan, execute, assess, and improve an organizational financial planning process
* Exceptional skills in core software systems, including WorkDay Finance, QlikSense, Huron, and Anaplan preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $95,000 - $105,000 commensurate with education and experience.
