Job SummaryThe Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Division Manager - Facilities Maintenance vacancy, supporting the following specific areas: Facility Security, Public Safety, the Emergency Response Power Team, Parks & Recreation, and General Government. The successful candidate will support completion of the overall goals of the Facilities Maintenance division by fostering greater customer service, responsiveness, and efficient expertise. This position will directly supervise the division's Crew Chiefs, indirectly supervise Building Systems Engineers and several levels of Systems Maintenance Technicians, and act as Division Manager in his/her absence. The ideal candidate will be able to work with changing goals and priorities on a daily basis and demonstrate sound decision-making in reaction to incoming emergencies, requests, and staff observations. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing and coordinating preventive maintenance programs for County facilities; establishing contractors as needed for division projects; conducting periodic pro-active mechanical systems inspections in all County facilities and ensure compliance with permits and plans; developing and executing plans and policies for the division's response to emergency situations; performing administrative duties to include submission of all purchase documentation according to County and departmental guidelines; and acting as a liaison between the Facilities Maintenance divisions and other County agencies and working groups. Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in a department-related area, such as Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Design, Construction, Business, or Public Administration; four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including one (1) year in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a government setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Any or all of the following are PREFERRED qualifications (not required): * Master's License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia or a neighboring state in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing disciplines * Registered Virginia Electronic Security Technician * National Association of Elevator Contractors Certified Elevator Technician (NAEC CET)
Job Contingencies and Special RequirementsSuccessful candidate will undergo criminal, credit, and DMV record background checks, to include Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprinting. Must possess valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Subject to recall and/or being held beyond scheduled work day if required by County or departmental requirements. Respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive. This position is considered essential.
