Job DescriptionSUMMARY: Responsible for clerical duties in the customer service department. Assist member storeswith issues and concerns. To further assist members of management with requests as assigned. This will be accomplished by satisfying the customers', and our member retailers', needs forquality supermarket merchandise and superior support services. We will do this with high qualityemployees whose mission is to provide the lowest possible cost of goods in order to ensure ourmembers profitability, competitivness and continued growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform theresponsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by thedepartment head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of thepurpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customerservice to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits. 1. Receive telephone calls from store members and vendors regarding addon orders, handbills,and miscellaneous information. Resolve problem call from members, referring exception casesto appropriate buyer or department head.2. Responsible for supporting buyers with set-up of new items and vendors, and file maintenanceon UPC codes, to include price changes, when needed.3. Enter orders for stores as needed.4. Create and distribute pre-book bulletins or special sales information to member stores, asneeded.5. Enter credits, called in by member stores, to on-line credit system for processing.6. Email or post to storefront miscellaneous bulletins and memos, such as pre-book reminders, asneeded.7. Create weekly, monthly and period reports as assigned.8. Maintain pricing as assigned.9. Generate and distribute order guides as needed10. Maintain department filing.11. Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met. Actions mustalways stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members,associates and division management.12. This position requires strong communication and computer skills with the ability to use andlearn new technology. Management will be kept informed on planning, analysis, workperformed and results. All records required by management must be complete, accurate andsubmitted on time. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able toperform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalentcombination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts ofbasic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables insituations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
