POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the Loss Mitigation Manager in overseeing the Asset Recovery and Overdraft Administration departments.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:

Responsible for counseling delinquent customers, assisting in repossession of collateral and maintaining foreclosure properties. Responsible for administration of the Courtesy Pay program and minimizing potential losses in the overdraft privilege program. Represent the Bank with Court attendance for ongoing litigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, while other duties may be assigned:

* Assist the Loss Mitigation Manager in overseeing both Asset Recovery and Overdraft Administration departments, including hiring, developing, scheduling, and resolving conflict.

* Become fully trained to work in either Asset Recovery or Overdraft Administration when staff coverage is needed, or as assigned by Loss Mitigation Manager.

* Become trained in all the Loss Mitigation Manager's duties, to provide coverage during absences.

* Assist in preparing the reports for the Asset Recovery and Overdraft Administration departments.

* Assist in balancing general ledger accounts, including Attorney Fees, Bill Matrix, Fee Loss & Recovery and Principal Loss & Recovery

* Assist with monitoring the delinquent tax report on home loans and work with the customer to find an acceptable workout that protects the Bank's lien position.

* Assist in overseeing repossessions and foreclosures and ensure collateral is maintained throughout the process.

* Assist with preparing bidding instructions for sheriff sales and monitor the online sales.

* Assist with working with attorneys to pursue litigation necessary to protect Bank on consumer, home loans and bankruptcies. Attend Court as required.

* Assist with maintaining department policies and procedures.

* Assist with preparing the call report for foreclosures/repos and OREO expenses, the In House COVID19 report and the COVID19 extension report at the end of each quarter and provide to Accounting.

* Prepare and submit FMAC reimbursements.

* Participate in discussions with Bank Examiners.

* Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experienced in supervision.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Knowledge and/or Skills:

Ability to organize work, negotiate with customers. Is outgoing, assertive, persistent, tactful, motivated and goal oriented. Has good communication skills, uses good judgment, and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

* As generally applicable to F&M Bank and commensurate with these job functions, this job role includes accountabilities for following Bank policies and related procedures, as well as regulatory requirements involving federal and state laws, regulations, and related guidance.

* Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including accurate completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) when applicable, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department.
