About the role This position supports the design team in the research & development of woven fabrics. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The impact you can have •Support R&D team in all fabric research and development needs •Support design team in all fabric research and development needs - blankets, knit downs, weaves, finishes •Explore market for new mills and/or change in current mill base to recommend new products for design •Work closely with design team to fabricate seasonal collection in line with merchant needs •Work closely with sourcing team and suppliers to ensure smooth hand off of seasonal fabric development packages and seamless execution of product •Order tailoring yardage as per seasonal requests and coordinate tailoring trials with sourcing team •Provide all seasonal fabric detail to sourcing team and confirm that quality standards and cost targets have been met for all seasonal sample yardage development •Provide correct raw material standards to sourcing team for all bulk fabric commits •Partake in weekly cross-functional meetings to keep teams informed of seasonal fabric progress and any fabric openings/issues •Maintain and update fabric resource library and seasonal archive •Coordinate and schedule mill appointments for R&D team/design (trade shows, early development trips and mill week) •Develop strong relationships with cross-functional partners, overseas offices and key mill partners
You'll bring to the role •2-3 years experience in the textile industry, preferably working on a fabric team •Bachelor's degree in textile science or equivalent experience •Foundational knowledge of fabrics •Strong organization and communication skills •Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to partner cross functionally and effectively with design, global production and overseas offices •Proficient in Microsoft Office

- The target salary range for this role is: $55,000 - $62,000*
