Summary:

The Assistant Manager of Operations will assist in overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Manager of Operations will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure efficient processes and timely delivery of services.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will oversee multiple departments within a warehouse under the guidance of a Manager of Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

Operational Support (40%)

Assist in managing day-to-day logistics operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of shipments.

Coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment.

Monitor transportation routes and make adjustments as necessary to ensure on-time deliveries.

Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to shipments or deliveries promptly.

Assist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and performance.

Team Leadership (30%)

Provide guidance and support to logistics coordinators and other operational staff.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team morale and productivity.

Assist in training new employees on company policies, procedures, and software systems.

Data Analysis & Reporting (15%)

Collect and analyze data on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational performance.

Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and make recommendations for process improvements.

Identify trends and patterns in operational data to forecast future needs and optimize resource allocation.

Collaborate with the management team to develop strategic initiatives based on data insights.

Compliance & Safety (15%)

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards governing logistics operations.

Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Address any compliance or safety issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in logistics operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address issues and make informed judgments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
