What We're Looking For:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management preferred, or 3+ years of related experience in parts management or a similar role.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team.
    • Experience with medium/heavy-duty trucks required.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications.
    • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurability standards.
What You'll Do: As the Assistant Parts Manager, you will play a key role in the success of the parts department. You will be involved in managing day-to-day operations, overseeing inventory control, and ensuring that parts sales are maximized. Key responsibilities include:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Work closely with parts department personnel to develop and improve parts sales through effective use of resources and marketing.
    • Assist in staff training and development to ensure a knowledgeable team.
    • Coordinate and implement dealership training programs for the team.
  • Operational Management:
    • Help with the implementation of Hunter dealership policies and ensure smooth operation of the department.
    • Develop merchandising displays to ensure parts are easily accessible and attractive to customers.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate vehicle/asset maintenance files to maximize Return on Assets (ROA).
    • Track business opportunities through CRM systems and assess sales ratios.
  • Customer & Business Development:
    • Work alongside the Parts Manager to develop and maintain relationships with customers through research, trade shows, and site visits.
    • Help prepare and manage the department's annual operating budget.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Represent the parts department at safety meetings and ensure all OSHA regulations and safety standards are met.
    • Lead health and safety training, focusing on accident prevention and compliance.
    • Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify unsafe conditions, and help implement solutions to improve safety.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist the Parts Manager in goal setting and working to achieve department objectives.
    • Attend regular manager meetings and collaborate on continuous improvement.
