Bard College seeks an experienced, energetic and detail oriented individual to serve as the Assistant Payroll Manager. This candidate should be organized, professional, possess a strong knowledge of payroll regulations and a commitment to maintain confidentiality. This full-time position is based on the Annandale-on-Hudson, NY campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Payroll Department by assisting with the daily payroll activities this includes: ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and effectively assisting in resolving employee and student payroll issues
* Exhibit the ability to work in a team environment and communicate with other employees, faculty, and students in the campus community
* Responsible for a bi-weekly payroll along with assisting the payroll manager in the processing of other payrolls, as needed
* Assist the Student Payroll Coordinator in the collection, printing and uploading of new employee paperwork into ADP and Bard database
* Responsible for setting students up for online time entry along with printing and verifying timekeeping records and reconciling discrepancies
* Assist in reviewing and responding to the staff and student email accounts
* Responsible for completing journal entries for benefits, along with preparing payroll reports, tax filings, and other payroll related documents
* Assist in the flow of internal payroll data to ensure accuracy and timeliness while adhering to the college, state and federal policies and procedures
* Responsible for processing check and wire requests along with the processing and printing of manual checks
* 2 years previous payroll experience required
* Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and Banner preferred

Compensation: $26.50 - $29.00 per hour
This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
