Job Opportunity: Butler IndianaOur client is looking to hire on an assistant plant manager who will eventually grow into the plant manager position in the next couple years. Our client is a part of the steel industry and is one of the leaders in steel distribution. The assistant plant manager will be in charge of all things associated with the plant to include but is not exclusive to: Hire, manage and train all scheduling, production, maintenance, shipping and receiving personnelRetention and development of employeesContinuously improve production processesEnsure all equipment is properly maintained and operationalEnsure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the plantQualified candidates will need to have strong supervisory or management experience within the steel or metal industry.Job RequirementsResponsibilities:- Hire, manage and train all scheduling, production, maintenance, shipping and receiving personnel- Responsible for retention and development of employees- Continuously improve production processes- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operational- Ensure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the plant- Maintain safety and quality standards including ISO 9001:2015 standards- Negotiate with suppliers on plant purchases- Cost management for all plant purchases- Approve scheduling of production jobs to meet customer due dates and achieve maximum efficiencyQualifications:- Minimum of 5 years work experience in Steel Service Center or Metal Industry is preferred, but not required- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required- Strong customer focus- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
