Coordinate assigned student activities and services.QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: TEA certification requirements Master's degree Texas Mid-management or Principal certificate required Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser Valid Texas teaching certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to coordinate campus functions Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data Strong organizational, communication, public relations and enter-personal skills Experience: Three years of classroom teacher experience requiredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist with the design and management of strategic long-range and short-term plans both at the campus level and the district level.
- Assist with monitoring and implementing a balanced and comprehensive core instructional curriculum that reflects student diverse language and academic needs.
- Assist in the desegregation and utilization of data to improve the core instructional program for students at-risk.
- Assist in setting grade level expectations with clearly articulated timelines, benchmark assessments, monitoring and intervention strategies to assure success for each target student.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of an intensive and sustained staff development program for effective instruction.
- Coordinate curriculum alignment activities.
- Assist in the integration of technology into the instructional program.
Instructional Management
- Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs.
- Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate.
- Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process.

- Assist principal develop, maintain and use information systems to maintain records to track progress on
campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators. Personnel Management
- Observe employee performance, record observations and conduct evaluation conferences.
- Assist principal in interviewing, selecting and orienting new staff.
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
- Coordinate all support services with the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate and implement the district student support pre-referral process (before Special Education)
- Coordinate and implement the tutorial services for students.
- Coordinate and implement the parental involvement program at the campus level and align it to district initiatives.
- Coordinate and implement the LPAC procedures to ensure appropriate placement of all LEP/ESL students in a manner aligned to state and federal statutes and guidelines developing and implementing an effective student advisory program.
- Assist with the identification of students on free lunches as needed.
- Responsible for the accurate accounting of students.
- Supervise the effective implementation of student attendance.
- Organize and manage the student attendance waiver committees.
- Assist the principal in aligning the budget in the area of student attendance.
- File truancies as prescribed by law.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and functional learning environment.
- Assist the principal in aligning the campus budget to the goal area of safe learning environment.
- Supervise custodial staff and services.
- Supervise security personnel and services.
- Coordinate student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Schedules and coordinates all extra and co-curricular activities.
- Develop and monitor a system to supervise all extra and co-curricular activities.
- Train all appropriate staff on all extra and co-curricular rules, procedures, etc.
- Order and distribute all campus instructional materials to staff and students.
- Maintain accurate inventory on all instructional materials.
- Assist the principal in aligning the campus budget to this goal area.
- Maintain an accurate and current personnel PEIMS data.
- Assist the principal in future staffing projections.
- Coordinate and plan for future technology initiatives.
- Develop a computer driven method of tracking substitutes, teacher duty schedules, student activities, etc.
- Supervise and manage instructional software and hardware.
- Supervise operations in principal's absence.
- Assist in planning daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments and extra-curricular activity schedules.
- Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow-up
investigations.
- Supervise and manage the identification, documentation and reporting of leavers.
- Assist with safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
- Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support services.
- Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule and board policy.
Student Management
- Attends extra-curricular activities as assigned.
- Ensure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods.
- Assist in developing a student discipline management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
- Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students and teachers.
Discipline Responsibilities
- Process discipline referral using adopted district and campus procedures.
- Provide timely feedback to teachers, parents, ISS and others as appropriate.
- Supervise halls, grounds, and extra co-curricular activities.
- Schedule and attend parent conferences as needed.
- Process discipline information on PEIMS on a daily basis.
- Follow administrative procedures when referring students to alternative education placements.
Substitute Responsibilities
- Contact and schedule substitute teachers as assigned.
- Maintain accurate information regarding the hiring of substitute teachers and evaluate their performance.
PDAS Responsibilities
- Follow the district teacher appraisal procedures as assigned by the principal.
- Keep accurate records/documentation to support T-TESS appraisals.
Professional Growth and Development
- Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
School/Community Relations
- Articulate the school's mission to community and solicit its support in realizing mission.
- Communicate effectively with parents, community and civic organization.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with school principal. Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus including teacher(s), counselor(s), Librarian(s), instructional aides, clerical support staff, custodians and others as assigned.
