Position Summary:The Department of Life Sciences, within the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time (9.5 month), permanent, non-tenure track, position in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The appointment is scheduled to begin July 1st, 2025.Applications consisting of a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three professional references should be submitted. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.Academic rank (Assistant, Associate Professor) and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience in clinical practice or clinical management, and experience in professional education.Major Duties & Responsibilities:* Commitment to teaching and student advising at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.* Teaching responsibilities will primarily support the M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program but may also support the B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Forensic Psychology Programs.* Work closely with the Psychology Program Director to build and continuously improve the new Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at ACPHS.* May be asked to serve as the director of the MS program.* Expected to contribute to the service mission of the department, college, and professional community.Education and Experience:* Doctoral degree such as a Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or other closely related fields.* Licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or Psychologist is required.* Teaching and research experience commensurate with career level, ideally in Mental Health Counseling.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
