Position Information Banner Position Number 000367 Position Title Assistant Professor- Finance Classification Title Assistant Professor Department Finance/Economics Department - MU2320 Job Description The Department of Finance, Economics, and International Business at Marshall University seeks a candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance position with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels to begin in August 2025. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Lewis College of Business, housed in a newly built state-of-the-art facility Brad D. Smith Center for Business & Innovation, is one of ten colleges at Marshall University, a Carnegie R2 research institute in Huntington, West Virginia. The College, dual accredited by AACSB, is currently experiencing growth in its graduate and doctoral programs. The college recently received a transformative $25 million gift from alumnus and former Intuit Chairman and CEO Brad D.   • Qualified candidate will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Finance or closely related discipline. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment.
Experience
  • Candidate must possess interest and/or demonstrated ability to teach upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses using both face-to-face and online delivery methods, demonstrate effective teaching ability and above-average teaching performance, and be committed to participating in department, college, and university services.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research interests in areas such as financial analytics, risk management, computational finance, corporate finance, and investments.
  • Teaching experience with The Bloomberg Terminal and/or experience supervising a student-managed investment fund is a plus.
