Job Title: Assistant Professor of Accounting

Summary Description: The ideal candidate for this tenure-track position will have a passion for teaching, a strong commitment to scholarly activities, and a desire to contribute to the academic and professional development of students.
Essential Functions:
* As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks.
* To plan and deliver lectures, develop course assignments and grade student work.
* To advise and mentor students on academic paths and career matters.
* To update and revise current course materials, in addition to developing new courses or programs as needed.
* To support the University through committee service and attendance at required events.
* To conduct the appropriate level of research and/or attend conferences to stay current in field of expertise.
Education: Candidates for the position must have a minimum of a Master of Accountancy or a terminal degree in a related business field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting and a CPA. Candidates with 18 graduate semester hours in law and/or teaching experience are preferred.
Experience: Preferably at least 1 year of teaching experience.
