Assistant Professor, tenure-track, July 1, 2025. The Barnard College Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2025. Area of Specialization: Early Modern Philosophy or Kant's Theoretical Philosophy. Area of Competence: Open, but the department welcomes applications from candidates who can fulfill teaching needs in Feminist Philosophy and Philosophy of Race. Candidates must have a PhD no later than early Fall 2025. Duties for the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (4 courses per year), advising undergraduates, PhD supervision, excellence in research, and committee service at the departmental and college levels. The Barnard College and Columbia University Philosophy Departments function as a single department for most academic matters. Applicants must submit a cover letter, cv, writing sample, dissertation summary, research statement, diversity statement, graduate transcripts, teaching statement, sample syllabi, and teaching evaluations (when available), and at least three letters of recommendation.
