Position Summary:
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at ACPHS invites applications from qualified candidates to join the College at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for a full-time appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Academic rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience in clinical practice or clinical management, and experience in professional education.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
The faculty member will provide experiential education opportunities and develop and facilitate high-level lessons within assigned courses. Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students is expected. Didactic teaching assignments will reflect the professional expertise of the faculty member. College and professional service is expected.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide experiential education opportunities for fourth professional-year PharmD students at a clinical practice site.
* Develop and deliver high-level, engaging didactic lessons within assigned courses.
* Coordinate and manage the deployment of required and elective courses as assigned.
* Attend/participate in monthly Department of Pharmacy Practice department meetings and other committee meetings as per assigned service.
* Advise pharmacy students as assigned.
* Perform teaching responsibilities as assigned by Pharmacy Practice Department Chair.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of teaching and learning pedagogy and student success initiatives.
* Knowledge of academic programming related to pharmacy education.
* Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment.
* Ability to communicate and present information effectively to internal and external audiences.
* Ability to multi-task, develop and present workshops or training, and to advise and guide students specific to pharmacy learning opportunities.
* Demonstrates a positive attitude and work ethic.
* Observes schedules and meets assignment deadlines.
* Demonstrates willingness to learn/enhance skills needed to perform responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
* Pharm.D.
* Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in New York
* Post-doctoral PGY1 and PGY2 residency and/or research fellowship
* Advanced degree (Ph.D., MS), preferred
Physical Demands:

Additional Information:
This position is based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.
