Project ManagerJob Description:We are seeking an experienced Asst. Project Manager for light industrial ground up construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the overall construction of the projects assigned, include budgets, safety, and schedules.Ideal candidate would be a Construction Science graduate currently performing an assistant project manager or project engineer or estimator role with a Commercial General Contractor. The hunger to learn and ability to multi-task are key to success in this role.Responsibilities:Assist team with estimating light industrial projects on tasks such as reviewing plans, creating bid packages, solicitation through Building Connected, and qualifying bids.Assist PM to oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completionAssist PM to review the project in-depth to schedule deliverablesAssist PM with negotiating terms of agreementsDraft scopes for subcontractsWork with PM and PC during the submittal processObtain permits and abide by all local regulationsCoordinate with PM and Superintendent to direct construction workers and subcontractorsReview the work progress on daily basisPrepare internal and external reports pertaining to project statusPlan-ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging onesEnsure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques and safety protocolsRequirements:Proven working experience or education in construction managementKnowledge of construction management processes, means and methodsUnderstanding of all facets of the construction processFamiliarity with construction management software packages. Sage, CMiC a plus.Ability to plan and see the “big picture”Leadership and management skillsExcellent time and project management skillsBS degree in construction science, architecture or related field is a plus but not requiredTwo to six years of project management experience or educationPrior experience with commercial construction estimating is a plusProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and general computer literacyConfident ability to fly drone and experience with DroneDeploy is a plus
