Job DescriptionAssistant Project Manager - Structural Steel (95% Travel, USA) - Commercial Projects This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Project Manager with a background in structural steel to gain hands-on experience in commercial construction projects. This role requires extensive travel across the U.S., working on-site to support large-scale projects. Ideal for someone looking to grow into a Project Manager role.   • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing commercial structural steel construction projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and project specifications to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Monitor daily construction activities and address any issues that may arise on-site.
  • Track project progress, document updates, and report to senior management.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to safety regulations at all project locations.
  • Assist with procurement, scheduling, and logistical planning for materials and equipment.
  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain smooth project execution.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in structural steel and commercial construction processes.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively (95%) across the U.S. and be away for long periods.
  • Previous experience in project coordination, field supervision, or construction site management is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
