Our project portfolio features experience in bridge, highway, and structural design; condition and safety inspection; civil and site engineering support; construction inspection and administration; survey and mapping; and hydrographic services.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:We are expanding our Marketing department to meet the growing needs of our firm and are seeking an Assistant Proposal Writer for our Syracuse, New York office. This position reports to the Senior Proposal Writer and works with management and administrative staff in all our offices across New York State. The Assistant Proposal Writer supports the proposal development process from start to finish by creating staff resumes and project profiles and maintaining qualification documents. The position also assists with writing and editing overall content for proposals. What you'll be able to do:
- Monitor RFQ/RFP postings for proposal opportunities.
- Assist with the development of RFQ/RFP responses, proposals, qualifications, presentation packages, and promotion materials.
- Engage team members to obtain information required to develop proposal content.
- Maintain submission information and records/documents.
- Maintain of updated resumes, project experiences, photos, profiles, and presentation materials and organize proposal files.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- College degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related fields is preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience in proposal or business development and/or writing assistant.
- Experience working for an architectural, engineering, or construction firm is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational, effective time management, and prioritization skills are important as work will be deadline driven.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
