Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)Position SummaryThe Assistant Patient Care Manager for the Gender Affirming Surgery program for the Plastic Surgery Service Line at Stanford is responsible for managing the comprehensive care of patients undergoing gender affirming surgeries, including facial, chest, genital (phalloplasty, vaginoplasty, metoidioplasty), and body contouring procedures. This role involves preoperative preparation, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, patient education, and postoperative follow-up to ensure high-quality, affirming care. This role will serve as the lead support person to our gender affirming surgeons and will collaborate with the LGBTQ+ program, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to help develop the framework of the Gender Affirming Surgery program for future success. Key Responsibilities: • Postoperative Care and Support: Create, implement and coordinate post-surgical care for patients in collaboration with the care team emphasizing patient satisfaction, patient access to post surgical resources, and research based post-surgical data collection.• Preoperative Management and Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of preoperative preparations for gender affirming surgeries, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including the LGBTQ+ program to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care. • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide program and operational oversight of the Gender Affirming Surgery program, collaborating with our Gender Affirming Surgeons and the multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with Stanford Medicine's mission and vision.• Clinical Excellence and Safety: Foster a culture focused on quality improvement and patient safety, leading initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes. The position supports the Patient Care Manager in promoting the achievement of the unit(s)' goals and objectives. This position works in a supportive manner as a resource for the patient care unit(s) and as a representative for the Patient Care Manager. Typically assigned responsibility for supervising patient care staff and operations for an assigned shift for a patient care unit(s) and/or for coordinating one or more administrative functions as assigned by the Patient Care Manager, ensuring consistent implementation and monitoring of organizational policies and standards of care, their work involves a combination of clinical (patient care) and administrative responsibilities. The Assistant Patient Care Manager provides consistent and timely information and feedback to the Patient Care Manager and is responsible for knowledge and application of all personnel policies and requirements of the collective bargaining agreements. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $81.53 - $108.02 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
