The Assistant Softball Coach shall have the primary responsibilities to mentor, coach and develop high school Athletes. In collaboration with key stakeholders, the softball coach will foster a team environment amongst the athletic community at Loyola. Job Requirements / Essential Functions: The Asst Softball coach will help with the execution of campus wide events and initiatives that align diversity, equity and inclusion with the school's Catholic identity, mission, Ignatian Spirituality, and the school's commitments to celebrate, educate and advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. A successful candidate for the position should be able to collaborate, partner and communicate well with faculty, staff, students and community members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Have previous successful club, high school or college coaching experience. Organized, hard-working and demonstrates a strong desire to develop young players. Coach will be focused on player development, implementing practice plans and other necessary functions of the program.
- Ability to coach athletes of varying abilities and assist them in developing the fundamental skills necessary to be a successful and competitive high school baseball player.
- Travel with the team on the bus to away contests.
- Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
- Demonstrated ability to engage others in difficult conversations and manage conflict.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the institution, act ethically and with integrity, adhere to the administrative and operational policies of Loyola Academy and perform the duties of your position consistent with those policies and the institution's expectations.

- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling equipment of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Qualifications
- The position requires a bachelor degree, one to three (1-3) plus years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- All coaches will be required to complete ASEP or NFHS certificate and keep up with IHSA compliance requirements.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working nights and weekends.
- Pre-Employment screening is required: criminal background check and drug testing.
