The Assistant Manager at SeaVees is responsible for helping the Retail Store Manager lead the retail sales team by forging connections with customers while communicating SeaVees brand story and values through insightful product knowledge and the legendary style and comfort found in each shoe. This role is accountable for performing daily operations, achieving store sales goals, acting as a leader to the store team, helping with store events, and assisting with visual standards. They also assist with the responsibilities and duties of the Store Manager as needed.

Responsible for:

  • Creating an unforgettable customer experience, leading the business, and ensuring high operational standards are upheld.
  • Working with the sales team to ensure each customer receives the best experience possible.
  • Taking ownership of the sales floor and sales team to ensure customer experience is the first priority.
  • Preparing the fitting rooms, finding sizes, and providing honest knowledgeable feedback to customers regarding merchandise style and fit.
  • Forging lasting relationships with customers by engaging with them about product details, new product and replenishment, and inviting them to upcoming events.
  • Being knowledgeable on what's new and what's selling well and sharing with both the customer and team.
  • Leading the team on the day-to-day operations of the store when the Store Manager is not present.
  • Motivating the sales team and achieving sales goals in a team-based commission environment.
  • Seeking new product knowledge in the broader fashion landscape specifically to serve as an expert for the customer.
  • Leading the team in the completion of projects while keeping the focus on customer experience.
  • Communicating inventory needs to support the business goal.
  • Assisting the Store team in processing all shipments of product, as well as inventory management.
  • Working with the Retail Store Manager on daily maintenance, sales strategy, community and team management to ensure the business runs smoothly and successfully.
  • Leading the team in daily maintenance of the store including restocking product, maintaining visual merchandising, and cleaning.
  • Utilizing the utmost responsibility, attention to protocol and safety standards in closing/opening the store daily.
  • Under the guidance of the Retail Store Manager, encouraging employees to give 100%, adhere to punctuality and role responsibilities at all times.
  • Completing weekly manual restock and sending reports to inventory management.
  • Completing weekly cycle counts, or as often as needed.
  • Assisting in processing weekly shipments.
  • Ensuring all store supplies are stocked and communicating needs on a monthly basis.
  • Processing all online returns and defective products as needed and shipping to the warehouse.
  • Ensuring all restock and destock is handled on a daily basis.
  • Assisting in keeping the backroom clean and bins organized.
  • Managing the mannequin refresh and checking one-offs.
  • Ensuring all merchandising standards are upheld on the floor.
  • Partnering with the Store Manager to ensure that each associate is fully trained in their position.
  • Upholding the company dress code for store associates.
  • Partnering with the Store Manager to handle all personnel issues.
  • Assisting in the training of all staff to ensure that they maintain a high level of product knowledge.
  • Participating in store events.
  • Assisting Store Manager with events and planning to host store events.
  • The must haves:

  • Available morning and/or evening, work 8-hour shifts, 5 days/week, available at least 1 weekend day.
  • Must be a leader in punctuality and attendance, adhering to scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to develop relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • A customer service expert, creating experiences and developing relationships with customers, embracing the social aspect of sales and the ability to positively and proactively handle customer concerns.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Store and team management experience, as well as experience in retail.

  • Some experience with retail POS/inventory control systems; experience with Shopify and Microsoft Office is a plus.

  • Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure while meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to find, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
