POSITION TITLE: Assistant Superintendent for Management Services

LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe #1 BOCES, Central Administration

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time, 12 Month Position

STARTING DATE: December 1, 2024

SALARY RANGE: Salary Is Dependent Upon Experience and Contract.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Superintendent for Management Services is responsible for oversight of key departments of the BOCES as well as collaboration with multiple district stakeholders. This role also includes acting as liaison for regional services or initiatives, when necessary; examples include financial systems integration, human resource systems, regional data analysis, and RIC services.

DUTIES:

1. Assist the District Superintendent, in collaboration with other Cabinet members, with day-to-day operations of Monroe 1 BOCES.

2. Provide direct supervision to, and operational oversight of, the Director of Safety and Security, the Director of Transportation, Monroe 1 BOCES Records Management, and the Director of Food Services.

3. Oversee strategic planning and regionalization initiatives for the Monroe 1 BOCES catchment area, inclusive of the Strategic Planning COSER, and the development of new services and COSERs as warranted.

4. Work with the Director of Sustainability, the Director of Safety and Security, and the Health and Safety representatives from the Genesee Valley BOCES, to monitor, review, and update the BOCES safety, security, and emergency plans.

5. Assist, as necessary, the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations and In House Counsel with all lease agreements prior to Board of Education approval.

6. Act as the Records Access (FOIL) officer/designee.

7. Collaborate with, when necessary, the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations, In House Counsel and the Program Administrators, with contracts prior to Board of Education approval.

8. In collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations, assist with and prepare financial analysis to inform collective bargaining.

9. Participate as a member of the Management Steering Committee, Policy Committee and other committees as warranted.

10. All other duties as assigned by the District Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. NYS Certification as a School District Business Leader (SDBL), School Business Administrator (SBA), School District Leader (SDL), or School District Administrator (SDA) required.

2. Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.

3. At least five years prior experience as a School District Administrator or similar supervisory experience strongly preferred.

4. Knowledge and experience regarding BOCES programs, services and operations preferred.

5. Knowledge of school transportation, school safety, school food services, and general school finance preferred.
