Job Summary

Position is responsible for the supervision of assigned school leaders, continuous improvement of schools and ensuring student achievement gains at the school level. Other important functions of this position include oversight of the delivery of an effective, innovative, equitable, instructional program and assurance that an optimum climate for learning exists in every assigned school. This position also oversees assigned Central Office departments, reports directly to the superintendent, and serves as a senior member of staff.

Essential Job Functions

* Coordinates the work of all school based mental health professionals in the district.

* Lead a rigorous school improvement process that results in improved student achievement

* Oversees the performance of principals and provides feedback for continuous growth

* Ensure the alignment between the division strategic plan and schools

* Work with school leaders to monitor school improvement and make adjustments and provide resources based on need

* Provide coaching for school leaders in the areas of school improvement planning, general administration of schools, and evaluation of teachers

* Evaluate the performance of assigned staff

* Support school leaders in implementation of school improvement initiatives that positively impact school culture, standards, assessment, and instruction

* Lead the implementation and integration of evidence-based instructional and leadership strategies to ensure the growth and success of all schools

* Allocate and monitor mentoring, coaching, and instructional resources to provide differentiated support to schools as needed

* Collaborate on the development and oversight of assigned school and department budgets and assigned school staffing allocations

* Create a collaborative culture and establish effective communication channels between central office staff and school administrators

* Collaborate with central office instructional and student services staff to evaluate programs, services, and practices

* Collaborate with other senior staff to provide differentiated professional learning for school leaders and teachers

* Partner with the Human Resources staff to provide support in recruiting, identifying, and promoting excellent teachers and administrators

* Establish and maintain clear, consistent communication channels with families and community partners to receive input and feedback on the effectiveness of schools and to resolve concerns

* Stay personally informed about current educational trends, practices, and proposed legislation that impact schools, and share important information with direct reports

* Inform the superintendent regularly of progress, changes, and concerns and as needed in special circumstances

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Ancillary Job Functions

* Prepares documentation and reports data to the Arkansas Department of Public Instruction for the purpose of providing written support, conveying information, and complying with federal and state regulations.

* Recruits, hires, and supervises pupil services staff.

* Writes district Board policy for pupil services as required to ensure program consistency and compliance with state and federal regulations.

* Attends Board of Education Meetings as needed.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

'Required qualifications to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.

* Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, or related field.

* District Level Certification.

* Minimum of five years' experience working directly with students.

Preferred Qualifications

'Highly desired education, training, and/or experience that may be helpful in performing the job, if applicable.'

* Three or more years of PreK-12 teaching experiences.

* Previous building or district level experiences.

* Experience with behavioral or social and emotional programs.

* Bilingual/bicultural skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Knowledge of organizational systems, the role of public education in the United States, racial equity, social justice, culturally relevant instruction/practices, and special education laws and practices.

* Knowledge of curriculum and research-based programming.

* Knowledge of Wisconsin and federal education laws/regulations and district policies.
