POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for assisting with the supervision of the entire site, all subcontractors and building construction process. Helps to provide a safe work environment, inspects work of subcontractors, documents work done, punches-out finished units, and completes any work that is not contracted out.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist Project superintendent in Supervising subcontractors in the completion of trades work monitoring the quality and necessary tolerances of Trades work, daily.
- Assist in tracking material deliveries provided by Owner onsite.
- Enforce site safety policing site for trash, OHSA concerns and Erosion control Instructing workforce onsite of Violations and ensuring safety concern are immediately addressed.
- Attend Project team meetings daily reviewing Schedule, and inspections needed for Trades along with reviewing urgent needs to progress project working as team preparing agenda to provide at weekly Subcontractor meetings.
- Set standards for required work with subcontractor for the project turnover.
- Walk Buildings regularly bases to determine whether trades are completing task as required and the work is completed per plans, specifications and subcontractor's scopes of work. Observe, Document and report work damaged by other trades.
- Assist in updating daily log as needed each day.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 years of experience
- Must be willing to travel 100% of the time.
- Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak and interpret rules, procedures, routine reports/correspondence and to speak effectively with groups of employees and/or residents.
- Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compare rate, ratio and percentages and interpret basic graphs.
- Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills - Beginner experience with MS Office, MS Project, Procore.
- Other Skills - Capable of reading plans, tape measure and use of a level.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: - Annually attend First Aid training and OSHA 10 hour class.
- Ongoing professional development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Position requires up to 90% of the workday in the field on the construction site in and out of Building climbing ladders and stairs of 4 story buildings.
- My require use of hand and power tools at times to secure, fasten or dig holes as needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Occasionally must sit for extended times, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend.
- Close, distance vision and depth perception is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: - Normally works in an environment with loud noise.
- Must be able to handle extreme temperatures at times being in a tropical climate, work in high/precarious places, or around vibration.
- Occasionally must work near moving mechanical parts and toxic/caustic chemicals.
