Job Summary: Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Assistant to Senior Leadership provides high level, detailed assistance to the VPAA, Vice President for Finance and Administration, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Experience, and Vice President for Advancement. Job Duties and Share of Workload:
  • Provide general support to senior leadership in collaboration with the Executive Assistant to the President (30%)
  • Provide project management and organizational leadership for the college's strategic initiatives, including collaborating across the institution to streamline workflows and monitor progress
  • Manage communications in and out of senior leadership members' offices via multiple means of communication
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of correspondence and office operations
  • Manage office files, materials, expenses and budgets, calendar, and other necessary daily operations of the college's senior leadership
  • Anticipate and provide for the immediate and long-term administrative and organizational needs of the various VPs
  • Take responsibility for organization and minutes of Board of Trustee committee meetings
  • Provide support for and coordination of accreditation reports, faculty credentials storage, and associated campus visits, in collaboration with the appropriate departments and academic affairs staff (10%)
  • Plan Opening Convocation, Honors Day, and Commencement exercises in collaboration with other departments on campus (20%)
  • Maintain general familiarity with academic and institutional policies (5%)
  • Provide problem-solving for and triage of incoming requests and issues (10%)
  • Provide specific support to VPAA in organizing faculty business meetings and preparing for evaluation and review of faculty members (5%)
  • Effectively maintain a welcoming environment for constituents across the campus community and external guests (10%)
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. (10%)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three-five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to those candidates with prior experience in higher education, as well as those with senior-level experience.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal, with demonstrated ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality; ability to communicate across all levels of the institution
  • Ability to multi-task with flexibility and patience, and to balance multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong organizational skills with a great degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with budget and organizational management.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is preferred
