As part of Noura's original vision to empower women to invest in themselves, the brand launched the Empowerment Fund to support underrepresented women and non-binary individuals with the tools to empower themselves. Mejuri continues to reach new customers through exciting community initiatives and expansion into international markets, such as the UK, Australia and Germany. We are a team of retailers, creatives, technologists and strategists, and we are looking for someone special to join our team. [4-6 Month Contract] Mejuri is seeking a talented, hands-on Associate Creative Director to lead our in-house design team for the next 6 months. In this role, you will lead the Art Direction process from conception through design and production to delivery of content for all brand, digital product, campaign and evergreen creative assets. You will have an opportunity to help shape the vision for how Mejuri innovates and elevates the creative voice across customer touchpoints and apply that vision to the design and implementation of creative strategies for high visibility and high impact. Your work, inspiration, and background is culturally-relevant, fashion oriented and you would be responsible for cultivating a culture of creative excellence for the brand. You will ensure every project under your purview lives up to the Chief Brand Officer's expectations and the larger creative vision and objectives of the organization. You will set the bar for creative excellence at the start of every project, think critically about every insight and work with interdepartmental peers to shape the overall direction of projects. You will drive a number of projects simultaneously, making sure none of them backslide over the course of creative development, in collaboration with the Brand Operations team. What you'll do

  • Lead the quality of creative work by inspiring excellence, innovation and brand relevance, providing direction and constructive feedback in collaboration with the ACD Copy, while reporting into the Chief Brand Officer.
  • Work closely with the Brand, Growth, Retail, Digital teams to interpret briefs with a clear creative vision. Build powerful presentations to get alignment on creative concepts, design and execution choices.
  • Balance innovative creative vision with business objectives + priorities.
  • Attend briefings/status meetings, handle cross-team interaction, pitch concepts in a compelling manner; communicate and monitor project progress.
  • Lead with passion, guide & coach the team on their work, growth and performance.
  • Lead brainstorms as needed.
  • Ensure work is of highest quality, reflects brand standards, and is on budget and on time on all touch points.
  • Lead the creation, execution, and continual evolution of the brand guidelines.
  • With support from the Brand Operations team, identify the best resources from the team based on project needs, ensure processes are efficient.
  • Assess creative work to ensure ideas are as powerful in reality as they are in concept.
  • Provide creative quality control over concepts and execution.
  • Oversee in-house execution and production of creative work.
  • Stay up to date with new innovations and industry trends.
  • You set the tone for forward-thinking, positive, and an industry-leading creative organization infused with the brand vision; also contributes to thought leadership.
What you'll bring to the team
  • 8+ years relevant experience in an agency or in-house agency environment on the brand side.
  • A leader with a strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking.
  • Solid business sense and experience in balancing creative vision with business priorities/objectives.
  • You are someone with an impressive portfolio that demonstrates a high standard and quality of work, delivering on consistency in brand look, feel, and experience.
  • Strong understanding and experience with the creative process and how to evaluate creative output in design, art direction.
  • Production savviness, knowing how to work within budgetary constraints; experience working with photographers, directors, and vendors is essential.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
