Educate. Empower! This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive organizational culture that supports the vision to inspire, educate, and empower scholars for a lasting impact. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in human resources within a school environment, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, licensing, employee relations, and compliance with educational policies and regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • HR Strategy and Development:
    • Collaborate and engage effectively with staff and administrators to identify HR needs within the educational context.
    • Provide recommendations to improve HR processes and systems to align with the District's 5 C's: Culture, Communication, Commitment, Customer Service, and Collaboration.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Manage the recruitment process specific to educational roles, including creating job postings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
    • Conduct background checks and coordinate onboarding activities tailored for new staff in an educational setting.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Support and maintain positive rapport and trust with employees, educators, and community partners.
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and educational regulations.
  • Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain databases, analyze data, and ensure data integrity for HR metrics, attendance, and other relevant data to inform decision-making in a school context.
    • Generate reports on HR metrics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations in the District.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist in managing the HR department's calendar and scheduling appointments related to educational personnel matters.
    • Develop standard operating procedures for department applications and processes, ensuring they are well-documented and implemented.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of districtwide communications regarding human resource practices tailored for school settings.
    • Participate in district-organized professional development activities and seek opportunities for self-development to improve HR skills relevant to education.
  • Technology and Systems Management:
    • Serve as the liaison and technical point of contact between vendors of HR applications used in educational environments.
    • Propose new HR systems processes, oversee the configuration and maintenance of existing HR systems, and communicate improvements with the Chief of HR.
    • Optimize HR processes, integrate new software, and perform diagnostic tests to enhance operational efficiency in managing school HR functions.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR department and the overall mission of the District.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, specifically within a school or educational setting. Proven track record of effectively managing HR functions, including recruitment and employee relations.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources is preferred but not mandatory based on significant relevant school HR experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in HR software and tools (e.g., PeopleWerks, Frontline, ScView, Google Suite).
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 20 pounds (50 pounds on wheels)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop
