Our events are a crucial element of our business development efforts, and we are looking for a self-motivated candidate who will drive forward an events program that creatively engages with target audiences. The Associate Director of Events will lead a group of events professionals with whom the Associate Director will direct the planning, execution, and management of high-quality events designed to support the firm's business development, client engagement, and brand-building efforts. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, this role is responsible for ensuring seamless delivery of events, managing a high-performance team, maintaining the firm's professional standards, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Consults and advises on creating and deploying strategic events that support the firm's brand and key strategies.
- Oversees and drives event strategy and focus based on the goals of the firm's departments and practices, working closely with firm leaders and Business Development professionals.
- Leads the successful planning and implementation of high profile/signature events, including the partner retreat.
- Leads efforts to identify process improvements leading to more efficient event management and higher quality events overall.
- Oversees management and execution of logistics for external conference sponsorships and events, including site selection, budget development and tracking, contract negotiation, food and beverage, A/V setup, registration management, CLE credit, branded promotional items and transportation.
- Implements creative cost reductions on firm events without impacting the attendee experience through actions such as venue and catering negotiations, decreasing printed materials, more efficient use of audio-visual equipment, and other cost saving strategies.
- Manages and maintains relationships with all third-party venues and vendors utilized for firm events and promotional items, inclusive of all contract negotiations.
- Liaises with in-house design team to create event branding, invitations, website, signage and promotional giveaways.
- Ensures team provides on-site presence at managed events.
- Prepares reports and conducts post-event debrief meetings, document feedback, and prepares recommendations for future events.
- Maintains and improves firm standards, consistent with Proskauer brand, for Proskauer events, including consistency with firm style and a high-level of attendee experience.
- Enhances planning process among Events Team and encourages and implements best practices and cutting-edge processes, including flawless execution.
- Serves as a mentor and leader for the events team, leading by example for best practices and event management/execution.
- Develops strong working relationships with others in the client development organization, members of other business services teams, and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred
- Minimum of 12 - 15 years of experience in event planning

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Well versed in virtual platforms such as WebEx and Zoom
- Experience with digital communications and CRM tools and databases
- Comfortable with online webinar platforms for event production
- Must be flexible and a team player who enjoys interacting with people.
- Must be willing to travel to in-person events
This position will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
