The Associate Director of Grants and Parent Engagement is integral to advancing Keuka College's mission by securing gifts and fostering relationships with corporations, foundations, and parents. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, this position is responsible for securing support from corporate and foundation sources for key college initiatives. Additionally, the Associate Director will develop and implement a comprehensive parent engagement and giving program to enhance the College's advancement efforts.

Specific Responsibilities:

[65%] Corporate and Foundation Relations

Grant Research and Proposal Development:

* Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate prospects.

* Secure grant funding through the identification and research of prospective foundations whose priorities align with the college's strategic initiatives.

* Develop and write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports for submission to foundations, ensuring alignment with funding guidelines and institutional priorities.

* Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and program staff to gather the necessary information and data to support grant applications.

Foundation Cultivation and Stewardship:

* Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporation and foundation representatives, keeping them informed about the college's work and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

* Manage the process of fulfilling grant requirements, including coordinating site visits, submitting progress reports, and ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.

* Track and report on foundation giving trends, maintaining up-to-date records in The Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems.

Collaboration and Strategy:

* Work closely with senior leadership to align foundation fundraising efforts with the college's strategic goals.

* Develop strategies to increase foundation support, including identifying new opportunities for institutional grants and multi-year funding.

Identification and Cultivation:

* Develop and manage a portfolio of high-capacity parent prospects, focusing on identifying those with the potential to make significant contributions.

* Conduct research to understand the interests, affiliations, and giving capacity of parent prospects to inform engagement strategies.

* Utilize events, meetings, and communications to engage parents in meaningful ways that align with the College's fundraising priorities.

* Solicitation and Stewardship:

* Design and implement personalized solicitation strategies for parent leadership gifts, collaborating with the Director of Annual Giving and other key stakeholders.

* Solicit gifts from parents through direct outreach, meetings, and participation in college events.

* Develop and execute stewardship plans to recognize and thank parent donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support.

* Provide regular updates to parent donors on the impact of their gifts, fostering a deeper connection to the College's mission and initiatives.

* Event Coordination and Engagement:

* Plan and coordinate parent-focused events and activities, such as leadership donor receptions at Green & Gold Weekend, and special gatherings, to build community and enhance parent involvement.

* Work with the events team to ensure successful execution of parent events, including logistical planning, guest lists, and post-event follow-up.

* Engage parent volunteers to support the College's fundraising efforts, serving as ambassadors and advocates within the parent community.

* Collaboration and Communication:

* Collaborate with the communications team to develop targeted messages and materials that promote parent leadership giving opportunities.

* Partner with faculty, staff, and alumni relations to integrate parent giving initiatives into broader development and engagement strategies.

* Maintain accurate records of parent interactions, gifts, and event participation in the donor database.

Physical Requirements

Requires repetitive motions and sitting at a computer keyboard.

* Ability to hear and speak on the telephone.

* Able to conduct business at other offices on campus, with some performance of job duties requiring travel to branch campuses or other offsite locations.

* Evening and weekend hours occasionally required.

* Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

* Flexibility for remote or hybrid work may be available, depending on the needs of the team and the demands of the role.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree required.

* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fundraising, foundation relations, donor stewardship, or a related field requiring high-level relationship management and strategic communication.

* Demonstrated success in securing grants or gifts, particularly at the five- and six-figure level, with experience in a higher education setting preferred.

* Familiarity with the nuances of working with foundations, including proposal writing, reporting, and compliance.

* A willingness to travel occasionally for foundation meetings and events, and to support the Vice President and President as needed.

* A willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required.

Skills & Competencies:

* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with preferred experience in Microsoft Excel and The Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems, demonstrating a strong ability to utilize data and technology to inform and drive fundraising strategies.

* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, build effective relationships, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* High level of professionalism and integrity in managing donor relationships and sensitive information.
