POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Manufacturing will provide leadership and manage all packaging and blending operations for the facility by ensuring operations are following FDA, company, OSHA and any other applicable regulatory requirements. The role will also be responsible for ensuring the facility has a well-trained and qualified workforce and leading applicable projects to support site and company growth or compliance initiatives. The AD of Manufacturing will interact with customers, both internal and external, to develop strategic relationships and improve site and company performance, implement and maintain continuous improvement activities for the site to improve operational performance and regulatory compliance utilizing multiple methods such as, Total Process Management, LEAN manufacturing principles, or any other industry recognized process improvement techniques or initiatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive formal and informal leadership to promote a positive work environment and communicate overall business expectations to the plant working groups.
- Prepare and communicate operational objectives, specifically around quality, safety and operational efficiency.
- Review operating staff performance regularly and develop individuals within operating functions to continually enhance individual and work team performance.
- Establish consistent work instructions in conjunction with functional managers and supervisors.
- Promote an open and collaborative work environment with all peers and subordinates.
- Identify, evaluate, and lead the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
- Develop and provide monthly reports on operating metrics, financials, and improvement initiatives.
- Manage responsibility for results through supervisors in terms of environmental, safety, quality, productivity and costs.
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Work on problems of a diverse scope in which analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Serve as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
- Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet objectives. Provide guidance to subordinates to ensure facility goals are achieved in accordance with established policies.
- Establish and recommend changes to policies which affect subordinate and peer organizations.
- Adhere to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements.
- Oversee the proper cleaning and sanitation of Operational equipment and areas used for manufacturing and packaging
- Maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility;
- Coordinates activities of assigned departments with those of other company departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.

- Professional knowledge of all OSHA safety requirements specifically LOTO and departmental SDS's, first Responder program, PPE and plant RIR metric.
- Ensure all employees have been trained on appropriate JSA/BSA's annually and they are updated.
- Be familiar with safety awareness in the site including eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Ensure employees are following all safety PPE requirements to include respiration systems.
- Ensure all safety investigations are completed and audit for appropriate follow up and analysis.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or higher in management/leadership, engineering, or technical studies preferred
5 Or More Years Prior Manufacturing Experience Preferred
Previous pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
