Job Summary The Associate Director, Research Computing provides leadership and vision for the development, support and maintenance of campus research computing and cloud services, including high performance and quantum computing. This also includes customer support for system enhancements and day-to-day operations for users, system integration, and development/rollout of technical solutions. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology or related field
- Minimum five (5) years of professional experience with progressive responsibility in information technology field, including a minimum of two (2) years in a demonstrated leadership capacity managing technical staff
Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering
- Five (5) or more years of experience in research computing and system administration
- Professional experience with progressive responsibility in the areas of research computing and cloud services
- Previous experience in higher education environment
- Experience with deployment and management of HPC systems including CPU, GPU, storage, file systems, networking, virtualization, job schedulers (SLURM) and scientific applications
- Experience with InfiniBand and ethernet networks

- Ability to manage both information systems special projects and ongoing operations
- Ability to plan and manage resources and supervise staff
- Ability to manage and direct problem resolution processes and build consensus among stakeholders to resolve conflicting interests or needs

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
- Understanding of data security and compliance standards, such as NIST 800-171/53
Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement Travel Local travel between campus locations only Driving Incidental driving possible, but not required Starting Salary/Rate Expected hiring range: $135,000- $150,000 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials.
