This job requires supporting the Sr. Director that would lead this new unit as they stand up this new group – including diagnosing challenges, implementing new processes, and managing multiple stakeholder groups, within and outside the Legal Department.Key responsibilities will include supporting the Legal Operations team in defining the Torts' operational strategy (according to guidance from Unit Chief), facilitating related projects, conducting relevant analyses, building dashboards to support reporting, and driving change management initiatives to implement these activities. This includes supporting employees in adopting new processes, monitoring progress and outcomes across initiatives, and supporting activities as needed.Additionally, this analyst must work with litigators. While analyst will not be an attorney themselves, they must effectively understand legal challenges, communicate with attorneys, and support legal teams in making practical decisions.Compensation$85,000-90,000ResponsibilitiesSupport Torts in executing projects critical to reshaping its operations. Projects assigned to Legal Ops division will have a large quantitative and/or design component. The Associate, Legal Ops position will have primary responsibility for supporting the quantitative and analytical sides of each project.Conduct financial analysis and business process reviews supporting high-profile, Torts initiatives under the guidance of executive leadership with the goal of improving overall outcomes for TortsConduct research and project management to support and inform critical decisions which will impact Torts cost structure and/or overall operations and - examples include benchmarking operational and support processes, evaluation of historical cost trends and relevant drivers.Support interdepartmental and interagency processes to execute initiatives critical to reshaping Torts processes and collaboration with other unitsCreate regular dashboards for review by departmental and unit leadership to guide day-to-day decision-making. Identify and collect relevant data sources and execute appropriate analytics to generate usable insights. Opportunistically identify ways to enrich further decision-making processes with dataSupport existing units to adopt new processes, technology, and procedures. As unit changes ways of working, bring best practices, relevant internal support, and process design to new unitsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Public Policy, Legal or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree.Minimum of 3 years' progressively responsible work or internship experience.
