Job Description :

The Associate Packaging Designer is responsible for assisting the Senior Packaging Designer in the design of packaging and display concepts for activewear within licensed brand guidelines from concept through final approved “ready for press” files. Creative solutions must effectively communicate product attributes within brand guidelines. This person will problem solve obstacles or challenges to keep design work on track, including limited development time. This is an opportunity to work on notable national activewear brands for a variety of retailers!

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Senior Packaging Designer, Marketing, and Design Teams to conceptualize, develop and implement design strategies across print and digital communications
  • Act as a problem solver within the Graphic Design department to provide creative suggestions and advice to support a variety of projects
  • Create and execute packaging & display mechanicals ready for press (rfp)
  • Partner with Packaging Developers to ensure the integrity of the design is maintained during the packaging development process
  • Photograph product and retouch imagery as needed for packaging, e-commerce, and/or displays
  • Experience working with 2-D & 3-Dimensional Rendering of packaging and displays
  • Create and adhere to brand identity guidelines, ensuring integrity within and across brands as relevant
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Merchandising, Sales, etc.
  • Assist in photo shoots as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in packaging design and POS displays
  • Experience with licensed branding, and interpreting brand style guides for product extensions
  • Bachelors in related field
  • Strong sense of design, typography and color
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills required (PHOTOSHOP/ILLUSTRATOR/INDESIGN)
  • Familiarity with working with linked files/font sets and tracking image/font assets.
  • Ability to create and work within specifications (die lines, image size restrictions, file weight restrictions)
  • Strong creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization and design skills
  • Experience creating “rfp” (ready for print) mechanicals
  • Experience and/or knowledge of photography & photo re-touching
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to problem solve
  • Willingness to learn and contribute ideas to our process
  • Efficient time management skills to consistently deliver high quality work in a deadline driven environment

Annual salary starting at $60,000
