Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Damage Attorney to join our New York office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling property damage claims, representing clients in disputes involving real property, construction defects, insurance claims, and related matters. This position requires expertise in evaluating, litigating, and resolving complex property damage cases, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients. You will work alongside a collaborative legal team in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a broad range of property damage claims, including real estate disputes, construction defects, natural disasters, and insurance coverage issues.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on property damage claims, including risk assessment and settlement strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies, property owners, contractors, and other parties involved in property damage disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Advocate for clients in court, mediation, arbitration, and settlement conferences.
  • Collaborate with experts such as engineers, appraisers, and construction professionals to build strong cases.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and explain legal strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 2-3 years of experience in property damage litigation, real estate law, or insurance defense.
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience in trial and appellate work.
  • Solid knowledge of property law, insurance law, and construction law.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
  • Experience working with insurance companies, adjusters, and third-party claims administrators.
  • Familiarity with New York's insurance regulations and property damage statutes.
