Job Description:
About the Role:
The Associate Quality Specialist role at the Carrollton facility will implement quality programs within the plant, supporting management in the implementation of relevant quality processes and procedures and the daily execution of related activities. The Associate Specialist participates on cross functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and to identify, resolve, and prevent FS&Q events. You will add value by:
Supporting FS&Q Manager & Supervisor with respect to the facility's Food Safety Plan, Food Defense Plan, Food Quality Plan and related prerequisite programs including, but not limited to: formula control, mock trace and recall, consumer complaint management, GMPs, sanitation, pest control, allergen control, environmental pathogen control, sanitation effectiveness, calibration, document control, kosher, SPC, corrective and preventative actions, and verification and validation programs.
Conducting daily record review as prescribed in facility's Food Safety and Quality programs.
Troubleshooting problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
Running and/or assisting Supervisor with Regulatory inspections, GFSI certification. Identitying Preserved Certification Audits, and Customer visits as needed.
Representing the Food Safety & Quality department for continuous improvement initiatives
Conducting Consumer Complaint investigations and working with FS&Q Manager on responses.
Supporting RDI plant trials and/or projects that qualify new ingredients, suppliers, formulas or processes.
Maintaining and updating the plant product specification database as needed.
Obtaining proficiency on all lab and production line FS&Q checks.
Important Details: This is a full-time role at our Carollton, TX facility with day time hours Monday - Friday, sometimes requiring flexibility.
About You:
You'll fit right in if you have:
Associate degree required, Bachelor's HIGHLY preferred in Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
2 years' experience in food manufacturing, scientific laboratory or similar industries is a plus.
Familiarity in using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
Must possess sound problem-solving skills, be analytical, and creative to investigate problems in order to recommend and implement solutions.
Efficient computer skills; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and familiarity with programs such as SAP and Infinity-QS an asset.
