The PositionThe
Associate - Real Estate Transactions role offers a unique opportunity for professionals to play a meaningful role in our real estate advisory practice, while gaining hands-on experience. Associates play an integral role in executing complex real estate transactions, analyzing financial data, preparing clients materials, and managing deal processes for leading public and private institutional investors, real estate developers, healthcare systems, and academic institutions. Assignments are typically in excess of $50,000,000 and are located throughout the country.
- Transaction Execution: Support the execution of real estate asset and portfolio transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, sale-leasebacks, and equity/debt raise.
- Financial Analysis: Build and manage financial models to evaluate individual assets or large portfolios, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, capitalization rate analysis, and lease-level underwriting.
- Market and Property Research: Conduct detailed market research, asset-level performance analysis, and benchmarking to support transaction strategies.
- Client Deliverables: Prepare compelling client materials such as offering memorandums, investment summaries, and strategic recommendations for real estate transactions.
- Due Diligence: Oversee and coordinate due diligence processes, including property financials, leases, CAM reconciliations, third-party reports, and legal documents.
- Investor Engagement: Assist in identifying and engaging potential buyers, investors, or joint venture partners for asset and portfolio opportunities.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, managing communication and providing strategic advice throughout the transaction process.
- Travel: Occasional travel will be required on a project specific basis.
- Workload: This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a dynamic environment. At times, Associates may need to accommodate tight deadlines and project deliverables, which could involve extended hours during critical transaction phases.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree required, with strong academic performance in finance, real estate, economics, or mathematics preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in real estate investment, advisory, brokerage, or healthcare real estate is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Argus Enterprise and other real estate-specific tools is a plus.
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills.
