DescriptionProvide reliability technical and engineering services to optimize fixed and rotating equipment life in a safe and effective manner.
- Services assigned areas of responsibility by providing technical assistance in resolving equipment design, operation, and maintenance problems.
- Assists in formulating, implementing, maintaining and auditing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Diagnostic Maintenance (PdM) programs
- Assists Operations, Product Control, and Maintenance Departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters.
- Advises engineering on new capital designs and installations to ensure that equipment reliability, operability, and maintainability are addressed.
- Develops and reviews equipment specifications and standards for reliability improvement.
- Develops and tracks cost justifications for reliability improvement.
- Performs all duties following the safety rules and guidelines established by the Refinery.
- Interfaces at the unit on a consistent basis with asset and maintenance personnel.
- Provides technical support and trouble-shooting leadership to the complex unit.
- Develops, maintain and ensure continuous improvements of the refinery PM/PdM program.
- Analyzes vibration spectra and trends with rotating equipment group.
- Leads and supports Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Ensures/follows up on the execution/implementation of RCFA derived recommendations.
- Develops basic engineering packages for improvement projects.
- Generates Management of Change (MOC).
- Supports PHA.
- Specifies equipment according to standards and established practices prior to purchase.
- Maintains joint accountable with rotating equipment group to assure that spare parts are stocked as needed based on availability and equipment criticality.
- Maintains unit records, tabulations and drawings.
- Utilizes reliability database, SAP and other electronic tools to track cost, equipment histories and preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Provides technical support to the inspection department.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero McKee Refinery, required.
- Graduation date of December 2024 or May 2025 required
- Bachelor's or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
