Position Summary
Our client is seeking an energetic and strategic Associate to join their expert team in New York City. In this role, the Associate will lead client project teams, coordinating closely with consultants and specialists to deliver executive search, board, and advisory solutions for clients across a range of industries and functional areas. Core responsibilities include project planning, conducting market and candidate research, creating high-quality client deliverables, and supporting business development and knowledge management efforts.
In this position, you will serve as a strategic thought partner, contributing insights and innovative approaches to executive search and advisory projects. This includes developing and refining strategies, producing documentation for internal and external audiences, and mentoring junior team members. You'll work collaboratively with other team members to provide impactful, tailored human capital solutions that meet each client's unique needs.
Ideal candidates will bring strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Private Capital Practice
Our client is a leader in executive search within the global private capital sector, working with a wide range of Private Equity, Venture Capital, Institutional Investment, and Sovereign Wealth Fund clients. They also support Infrastructure and Real Assets sectors, offering advisory services to clients in fields like energy, transportation, communications, and mobility. The team partners closely with investors and portfolio leaders to help them make critical talent decisions that drive success and growth.
We are seeking candidates with experience or exposure to the infrastructure or real assets sectors, whether at the fund or portfolio level.
Responsibilities
Research & Project Strategy
- Lead multiple client projects, collaborating with consultants and junior experts to ensure seamless execution.
- Use expertise to guide project strategy through market research, data analysis, and prioritization of target candidates.
- Communicate proactively with team members, providing updates, gathering feedback, and staying ahead of client needs.
- Ensure robust project management across engagements, delivering consistent, high-quality work.
- Mentor junior team members, contributing to skill development and team growth.
- Drive search processes to develop client strategies, identify candidate solutions, and create supporting materials.
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify, prioritize, and connect with high-potential candidates.
- Cultivate a broad understanding of the firm's offerings to optimize client solutions.
- Prepare high-quality client materials, such as candidate profiles, role specifications, search strategies, and progress reports.
Business Development
- Execute business development initiatives in collaboration with practice leaders.
- Develop client presentations and materials tailored to specific needs.
- Drive effective business development, keeping informed on market trends, industry updates, and competitor activities.
- Identify networking opportunities and support planning for client events, conferences, and other business connections.
Knowledge Management
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and candidate lists, with a focus on infrastructure-specific information.
- Monitor industry news to help keep the team informed and well-positioned.
- Share expertise and best practices within the firm, building networks across industries.
- Provide strategic insights on industry trends to support client teams effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least five years of relevant experience (post-undergrad).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.
- Experience in market research, consulting, or project management roles.
- Strong project management abilities, with minimal supervision required.
- Familiarity with infrastructure segments (e.g., energy, transportation, communications).
- Experience in Private Capital or Private Equity is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
