Our Associate Risk Analyst is responsible for the daily mark to market of the Refined Products (RP) Supply portfolio, the daily processing of the RP Supply PnL (profit and loss) reports, the end of day tie out of expected results with the trading desk, the daily reconciliation of financial trading positions to broker statements, and daily risk limit compliance reporting. Our Associate Risk Analyst will interact with the RP Risk Analyst to ensure all daily and month end requirements are completed.

Our ideal candidate has an accounting/financial background with strong computer skills who enjoys analyzing data and reconciling variances. The job requires heavy usage of excel spreadsheets with pivot tables as well as VBA macros. This position is also expected to support the Nat Gas Middle Office team as needed.

• Monitor, track and report Refined Products Supply physical/financial positions and mark to market valuation daily to traders and upper management.
• Primary liaison between Refined Products traders and Refined Products Accounting analysts to resolve position data discrepancies and position valuation questions.
• Updating/maintaining trading system reference data, from book reporting structure to instrument creation in RightAngle (ETRM)
• Monitor/report compliance with Risk Limits applicable to Refined Products daily.
• Support month end accounting close.
• Constant interaction with Director, Middle Office regarding risk assessment monitoring/reporting.
• Handle ad-hoc requests from traders and other stakeholders.

Qualified candidates for this role will have the following:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with 3 to 4 years of relevant business experience.
• Energy industry experience preferred.
• Strong computer literacy, Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Ion Right Angle experience desired
• Extremely detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks according to business need, in collaboration with team members in fast paced, stressful environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
