Req Id: 35978Job Title: Associate RooferCity: West LafayetteJob Description:Job SummaryAs an Associate Roofer, you will:* Learn and assist with maintaining, inspecting, and repairing or replacing roofs, including slate, tile, tin, gravel, asphalt, single-ply systems, and liquid applied systems.* Learn and assist with inspecting roofs to locate the source of a leak or damage.* Assist with performing preventative maintenance inspections of buildings maintained by Operations & Maintenance.* Assist with directing the delivery of material and maintain contact with customers and other crafts regarding the status of jobs.About Us:When you join Purdue University, you join a community that keeps moving forward. Our campus is a place of unrivaled pride, where every team member plays a crucial role in supporting our mission of learning and discovery.What We Are Looking ForEducation & Experience:* HS diploma/GED* Valid driver's license* 0-2 years of previous roofing experienceSkills Needed:* Possess the ability to learn about the materials, methods and tools involved in repair or replacement of various roof systems.* Slate, tile, metal, built-up roofing, various single ply systems, shingles, gutters, and downspouts.* Strong verbal communication skills required.* Knowledge of campus buildings and locations preferred.* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and schematics required.* Basic math skills required.* Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects.* Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts at heights up to 100 feet.
