Job Summary:PLNU is seeking a strategic and experienced Associate Vice President (AVP), Facility Operations & Campus Planning to oversee the university's facilities operations across all campuses. This role is responsible for facilities management, sustainability initiatives, and operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with PLNU's mission. The ideal candidate will bring collaborative, caring leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills to inspire innovation, sustainability, and end user satisfaction. This role serves on the University Services leadership team, led by the Vice President for University Services.

Salary:Pay range $130,972 - $150,289Internal Classification: Career Track - Executive Job Level - 1

  • Sophisticated budgeting and financial planning experience, including long range forecasting
  • Skilled in emergency logistics and crisis management
  • Effective oral and written communicator
  • Ability to collaborate across departments
  • Experience in higher education settings preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading the teams that facilitate strategic and integrated capital planning, maintenance, custodial services, transportation, construction, sustainability, and event operations
  • Developing and executing the PLNU Integrated Facilities Plan, including related capital projects and benchmarking
  • Working with the VP for University Services to manage the university's Campus Master Plan
  • Supervising staff development, training, and mentorship initiatives
  • Overseeing contracts and procurement for large-scale construction and maintenance projects
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, sustainability policies, and emergency preparedness
  • Leading sustainability efforts to reduce PLNU's carbon footprint and enhance energy efficiency
  • Serving as a liaison with government agencies on facility use and sustainability projects
  • Improving policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and customer experience
  • Driving a culture of transparency, innovation, and professional growth across the team

  • Facilities Operations & Strategic Planning - Experience in project management, planning, and asset management, focusing on long-term facilities strategy
  • Compliance & Safety Expertise - Adherence to local, state and federal requirements, with experience ensuring compliance and leading emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight - Strong background in financial planning, budget management, and forecasting
  • Project & Contract Management - Ability to oversee large-scale projects ($100K+), negotiate vendor contracts, and manage processes for construction and maintenance services
  • Sustainability & Energy Management - Expertise in leading energy efficiency initiatives, sustainability programs, and environmental impact reduction strategies
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant

Physical Requirements
