Opportunity Summary:
MUFG Securities Americas, LLC. is hiring an Associate/ Vice President within the Securities Finance Group. The Securities Finance group is a cross-asset, multi-product trading desk that encompasses various types of securities financing. Products include global fixed income, equities, repo, securities lending, foreign exchange and derivatives.
The candidate will support and assist members of the Sales and Trading team in all aspects of the group's business, including booking trades, hedging risks, speaking with clients, generating trading ideas to enhance profitability, and building trading and risk management tools. Previous experience or direct exposure to working as part of a trading desk is recommended. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing team in a dynamic role with significant potential.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in daily financing of the Repo and Securities Lending desk
* Manage all day-to-day operational aspects of the trading desk
* Price and manage financing transactions involving equity derivatives
* Working in partnership internally with other trading desks and a global sales force
* Interact directly with clients with a goal of growing client business
* Deal with high levels of uncertainty that comes with building and expanding new businesses
* Compliance with a complex set of regulatory and internal risk and liquidity limits
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong technical and mathematical aptitude applicable to trading a client-focused book
* Solid understanding of financial markets and economic principles as well as a general understanding of regulatory landscape across banking and securities
* Entrepreneurial self-starter ready to work in a fast paced, competitive, team environment
* Motivated to generate new business ideas and increase profitability for the group
* Quick learner with the ability to understand new products
* Experience with multiple products and asset classes will be valued
* Familiarity of Reverse/ Conversion and Index Trading
Qualifications:
* 2-5 years of Trading or Sales experience in cross asset products
* Degree in business, math or related field
* Series 7, 63, 55/57 preferred
The typical base pay range for this role is between $150K - $275K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
