Summary

The Associate Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Outreach is primarily responsible for providing strategy and leadership for Marketing & Communications, Website, and Admissions. This position oversees the College's marketing, all forms of internal and external communication strategies, including media engagement, advertising and promotions, social media, web services, and public relations. Serves as a member of the President's Cabinet, VP Council and reports to the President. Responsible for the recruitment, communications and marketing functions in the strategic enrollment management plan and other marketing goals and objectives consistent with the College's strategic plan. As a member of the President's Cabinet, VP is responsible for outreach and recruitment strategy, leadership and implementation of related Strategic Plan and Institutional Operational Plan Goals in addition to the division plan.

Essential Functions

* Ensures consistent brand and strategic messaging of the College for external and internal stakeholders including the segmentation of target audiences based on district profile and related marketing and engagement strategies.

* Maintains the visual brand identity of college; Directs, approves, and oversees preparation of major college publications, electronic media and various communications and marketing events. Supports brand identity for the College's master plan.

* Directs and provides leadership for recruitment and student targeting and outreach and oversight of CRM strategy and application to ensure efficiency and systemic student outreach.

* Develops college-wide integrated communications strategy for internal and external audiences. Oversees the implementation of communication vehicles to communicate with various internal and external audiences including all college email, updates, town halls and meetings.

* Provides leadership in the strategy for the conducting of and coordination for market research.

* In coordination with various stakeholders/committees, develops marketing plans to support strategic enrollment management objectives; i.e., public relations, admissions, advertising, literature, literature, digital strategy, web presence, and other outreach events.

* Develops annual budget, equipment and resource requirements and master schedule to support division and communicates such to appropriate stakeholders.

* Ensures the development and utilization of a job production tracking system and uses the data to ensure resource optimization.

* Directs and oversees the evolution of the college web site to ensure that it is client focused including prospective students, students, alumni, and employers (or community), including ease of use, brand consistent and effective and efficient in supporting the image, outreach and marketing objectives of the college and its constituent programs. Supports divisions, departments and programs in creating and maintaining effective web content.

* Provides leadership and strategy to ensure the admissions team optimizes resources and opportunities for college recruitment. Works closely with the admissions director to ensure resources are aligned with the opportunities identified in the SEM plan.

* Creates internal and external communication messaging for all departments of the College and specifically for managers through the Strategic Forum.

* Oversees media relations' efforts to promote the college to local, regional, and national media as well as crises communications as required.

* Cultivates and informs key constituencies, appraising them of the college's communications strategies and efforts.

* Provides leadership for the crafting College message points, articles, press releases, presentations, speeches, etc., for the President as requested.

* Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

* Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, mass communications or related field.

* Minimum of 7 years of management experience in applicable marketing experience.

* Direct experience with brand and marketing strategy, admissions/sales and promotional media and vehicles. (digital, print etc.).

* Excellent creative, promotional, technical, media and writing skills.

* Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act, Open Meetings Act, and Family Education & Privacy Act and how to apply them to appropriate publicity materials.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Superior verbal and written communication and public relations skills.

* Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in management, marketing, mass communications or related field.

* Higher education experience.
