Job Overview – Assurance Manager (Hybrid):

Take on a key leadership role with our client in Middletown, NJ, as an Assurance Manager. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to manage and oversee all aspects of assurance engagements, guide and mentor team members, and contribute to the growth and success of the firm. Your technical expertise and leadership will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services to a diverse client base.

Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000/year + bonus

Location: Middletown, NJ

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Assurance Manager:

  • Engagement Management: Lead assigned engagements, including team staffing, job planning, and scheduling in coordination with the Senior Manager or Principal.
  • Internal Controls: Evaluate client internal controls, prepare/review work programs and time budgets for approval.
  • Team Training & Mentorship: Provide training, guidance, and constructive feedback to team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Engagement Reviews: Collaborate with Senior Manager or Principal to address significant findings, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare/review financial statements, notes, schedules, and management letters for discussion with clients.
  • Performance Evaluations: Conduct engagement evaluations for team members and discuss outcomes before submission.

Qualifications for the Assurance Manager:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA designation required).
  • Experience: 4+ years of Public Accounting experience, including planning and supervising audit and large review engagements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting and auditing practices, with expertise in resolving complex issues and using accounting software.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, writing, presentation, interpersonal, and time management abilities, with strong computer proficiency.
  • Attributes: Strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Preferred: Experience working with nonprofit organizations is a significant plus.
