Employee Type:RegularWork Shift:Evening - 8 hour shift (United States of America)Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health!Position Summary: Under the direction of the senior athletic trainer and hospital sports medicine physician, plans and implements medically prescribed specific treatment programs for athletes in accordance with NATA guidelines in addition to collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team. The employee may have job functions where they will handle and deliver medications based on the requirements of their job in the assigned work facility. The employee will complete other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Creates, maintains, and ensures program education and competency for therapy and/or school staff2. Identifies appropriate staff for education on athletic training and conducts a minimum of 2 annual in-services for involved staff3. Maintains adequate records concerning athletic injuries, their etiology, treatment, and follow-up treatment along with outside referrals4. Completes all assigned documentation which includes ATC quarterly schedules and referrals. Enters documentation into network drive prior to the end of each quarter.5. Provides emergency medical coverage and athletic training services including injury prevention, management, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation strategies for assigned athletic teams for all home and away competitions, and practices for designated teams.6. Assist in the coordination and participation in pre-participation physical exams for your school's athletic teams, assist in arranging for providers, location set-up and appropriate paperwork.7. Completes baseline ImPACT scores for collision sport athletes with a target of 85% of the population completed prior to season start.NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:Complete required orientation as directed by facilityFollow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignmentFollow facility and Joint Commission guidelines and recommendationsRespect cultural and religious practices of patientsUphold HIPAA regulationsPunctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shiftsREQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: Master's degree, bachelor's in science (if licensed prior to 2022) requiredEXPERIENCE:- Prior athletic training experience preferredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Certification and the South Carolina Athletic Trainers Certification required, South Carolina LLR licensure required, AHA Basic Life Support Healthcare ProviderPhysical Requirements: Medium / Heavy: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear.
