Summary:The Hotel Valet Attendant provides exceptional guest service by parking and retrieving guests' vehicles efficiently and safely. The valet attendant is responsible for ensuring prompt and courteous service to guests upon arrival and departure, maintaining the appearance of the valet area, and adhering to safety and security protocols.Key Responsibilities Overview:
  • Guest Service: The Hotel Valet Attendant greets guests promptly and courteously, offering assistance with vehicle doors, luggage, and providing information about hotel services. They respond quickly to vehicle retrieval requests, ensuring efficient service and minimizing wait times.
  • Guest Satisfaction: The valet attendant seeks guest feedback, listens to concerns, and addresses issues promptly. Their goal is to create positive experiences that foster guest loyalty by providing professional, personalized, high-quality service.
  • Vehicle Handling: Safely and efficiently parking and retrieving vehicles, the valet attendant follows traffic laws and organizes the valet area to maximize space. They ensure the valet area is clean, organized, and hazard-free for guest safety.
  • Safety and Security: The valet attendant follows safety protocols, checks vehicles for pre-existing damage, reports incidents immediately, and secures keys. They regularly patrol the valet area to monitor for safety risks or suspicious activity.
  • Area Maintenance: Keeping the valet stand, walkways, and surrounding areas clean and debris-free is essential. The attendant ensures equipment, including key storage and communication devices, is well-maintained for smooth operations.
  • Food Safety and Cleanliness: When assisting in food service areas, the valet attendant follows hygiene and food safety protocols to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Team Collaboration: The valet attendant works closely with team members and other departments, promoting seamless communication and teamwork while contributing to a positive work atmosphere.
  • Compliance with Policies and Procedures: The valet attendant adheres to all hotel policies, including health and safety, time and attendance, meal breaks, and uniform standards. They must be punctual, professionally groomed, and available for flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The attendant is expected to uphold the hotel's standards of conduct and professionalism in every interaction.
  • Other Duties: The valet attendant assists with special events, traffic direction, and guest services as needed, offering support during peak times or staff shortages.   • Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with customer service or valet experience preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles, and attention to detail are essential. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. The role involves standing for long periods, running short distances, lifting heavy luggage or other items, and maintaining a clean workspace. Food Handler and Alcohol Server Certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire) are required.
