Audio Visual Desk Support

AV/Media position reporting to the Assistant Director of AV Technology Operations. Seeking an Audio-Visual Support technician to assist in facilitating support for academic classrooms, staff conference rooms and web conference. The primary focus of this position is to perform day-to-day Audio Visual support with a team leader and assist digital media user assistant with all events, projects and inventory maintenance.

Must exercise judgement or work independently in determining when to refer a problem to the next level of support.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Working with a team leader to plan, manage and oversee the daily operation of classroom technology.

· Audio consultation and purchasing support.

· Consult with team leader, manager and end user regarding new system upgrades.

· Maintenance and troubleshooting of all AV/media equipment.

· Assist or train faculty, staff and students on the use of classroom equipment.

· Manually set-up Audio Visual for staff meetings.

· Assist with set-up computers, Skype and Web Conference.

· Work with team leader to coordinate monthly maintenance of classroom technology.

· Product research for new Audio Visual equipment or technology.

· Working with the IT Team to make sure all necessary applications are installed on computer to support the faculty.

· Maintain and recommend the removal of equipment, as well at the upgrade once equipment reaches capacity.

· Assist with editing high-end video for classes.

· Responsible for firmware upgrade to all media equipment.

· Assist with image, upgrade and installation of software in relation to all AV/media.

· Familiarity with Crestron system, lighting and camera operation.

· Strong multi-task skills to help assist other staff working at a different time of day.

· Ability to work with Canvas to upload video files.

· Assist with camera set-up, lighting, shooting, producing, editing and post media.

· Participate in on-going training programs and initiatives.

· Perform repair and routine cleaning of media equipment.

· Create, update and maintain all media manual or training document on the lab wiki.

· Set-up wireless microphone, audio mixes and sounds.

The AV Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting audiovisual technology in numerous classrooms and event/conference spaces in multiple buildings on the Harvard campus as well as for remote teaching and learning. This role may be engaged in video productions, live streaming, video conferences and live audiovisual event support. Ensure presenters are aware of technology and ready prior to the start of events and presentations. May monitor ACV systems and processes, tracking and reporting on trends. Assist with maintaining audiovisual equipment and minor repairs as needed
