Salary Range$100,000 to $115,000 depending on experience.LocationOn-site at our Vista, CA HeadquartersResponsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), vision systems, and computer-controlled devices.
  • Highlights system issues for permanent corrective actions and process improvements, while minimizing downtime.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, following written schedules and procedures.
  • Explores and implements new ways to automate systems.
  • Designs and tests automation equipment and processes. Programs new automated components.
  • Performs PLC and Human Machine Interface (HMI) troubleshooting and programming using AB-Rockwell and Siemens software.
  • Creates paths to get data from PLCs to store in the SQL server through Ignition Platform interface software.
  • Calibrates tank level transducers, differential pressures, temperature transducers, and flow meters.
  • Keeps records, schedules, and coordinates calibration services with production management as needed.
  • Provides tasks and project status reports to Automation management.
  • Responsible for assembly of mechanical device startups and complete systems according to blueprints and written/verbal specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Performs routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit dose packaging equipment.
  • Creates Work Instructions (WI's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Communicates with vendors, order Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and/or other machine components.
  • Follow up Purchase Orders (PO's) and prepare Expenditure Requests (ERF's) as needed.
  • Trains production operators/employees as appropriate for set-ups, operation of all equipment, etc.
  • Participates in special projects and/or rebuilds.
  • Review Electrical schematics, Process Narratives Control (PNC), Schedule of Values (SOV's), schedule and supervise jobs with contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned within job scope.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical engineering, or similar field.
  • 5 years of experience in the Automation/Engineering field or in a related area.
  • Experience with computer programming and software development with brands such as Allen Bradley, Ignition Platform, Siemens or similar.
  • Skilled with troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as electric motors, pumps, mixers, values, PLC's, HMI's, pneumatic systems, flowmeters, level & temperature transmitters, and other mechanical devices.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuits, wiring, and the operating principles of motors.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.)
