Automation Engineer - Barrington James : Job Details

My client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to drive the design, procurement, installation, and qualification of automation systems across our global manufacturing facilities. This role ensures efficient operations by enhancing existing systems and developing new automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, procure, and qualify new automation systems.
• Support automation projects globally, including technical feasibility and cost-saving initiatives.
• Interface with customers and vendors, acting as the technical lead on automation projects.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing automation equipment.
• Manage automation schedules, budgets, and vendor qualifications.
• Develop and maintain project specifications and delivery standards.
• Travel up to 30%, including internationally, to support global operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering or a similar role.
• Advanced knowledge of machining, part design, CAD, injection molding, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer control systems and a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
